The Genesis
In the heart of London’s vibrant music scene in 1994, a 15-year-old stepped into an underground record store and discovered a new universe of sound. This young music enthusiast was none other than Reggie C, who, amidst the pulsating rhythms of jungle, breakbeat, and early happy hardcore records, found his calling.
This wasn’t just a store; it was a gateway to a world where music transcended boundaries – a world that would shape his destiny.
With a Helter Skelter rave 8 tape pack in one hand and a “Can’t Touch Dis Style” graffiti record bag (filled with as many records as I could afford) in the other, DJ Reggie embarked on a journey that led him to the heart of Sydney’s underground rave scene in the 90s. As a rave DJ, he not only spun tracks but also began to weave his own, producing jungle music that echoed the beats of his soul.
The Evolution
Years of pulsating beats, evolving genres, and the relentless pursuit of music led to the birth of REGGIECIDE Records in Shellharbour, NSW. This label isn’t just a business; it’s a homage to that pivotal moment in a London record store and the subsequent journey through sound and rhythm.
